Cause

An Installation Point is added as an Item to the Installed Base.

The error "Installed Base deletion not permitted; it is referenced by IPs" indicates that the Installed Base (IBase) you are trying to delete is being referenced by other objects, such as Installation Point.

This means that there are dependencies or references to this IBase that prevent its deletion to avoid any inconsistencies.

Resolution

Remove the line Item Installation point from the Installed Base and and then you can delete the Installed Base using Data Workbench.

To remove the Installation Point follow below steps:

  1. Go to Installed Base Work Center
  2. Go to Installed Base View
  3. Open the Installed Base XXX (XXX represents the ID of the Installed Base that needs to be deleted)
  4. From the Items tab select the Item and click on More
  5. Click on "Obsolete Items"
  6. Select the Item again and click on More
  7. Click on Remove

Now follow the deletion steps from Data Workbench Import to delete the Installed Base.

NOTE: You can later revert the Installation Point status by opening it and setting the status to first Block and then Activate it using the Action button.
