3519424 - Redshift ODBC syntax error in 'MDY' context when running the query for a report in web intelligence

Symptom

When refreshing a WebI report connecting to Amazon Redshift via ODBC, get error: 

Error: The following database error occurred: [Redshift][ODBC Driver] [Server]42601:ERROR: syntax error at or near "MDY" in context "SET DATEFORMAT MDY", at line 1
LINE 1, POSITION 15: SET DATEFORMAT MDY.
