3520364 - Multi-language display of the month dimension is not possible in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Symptom

The following behavior occurs in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC):

  • When using time series chart with date hierarchy, you can only visualize the month names in English.

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud Version 2024.8.16

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log on to SAC.
  2. Data access language is set to German and affected story and widget has been enabled for translation.
  3. Click on the affected chart.
  4. Drill down to monthly level.
  5. Notice that the month names do not appear in German, but in English.

Cause

  • This is by design behavior, date member translation is not supported as of now. 
  • The same applies for scripting as well.

Please vote on already existing enhancement request for this feature to be considered during development here.
