3521157 - Issue with Resetting the SYSTEM User in System DB due to Encoding Error

Symptom

  • The SYSTEM user in System DB cannot be reset.
  • The process appears to hang at the stage of setting the user inactive.
  • It is getting stuck at below :
    setInactive(indexserver@<host>:30003)
    compileserver did not become active
    service started
    setActive(nameserver@<host>:30001)
  • Referred to SAP Note 0002933576 - Reset the SYSTEM User Password appears to hang at setInactive(<service>@<host>:<port>), however still the same issue occurred.
