3521235 - Error Message When Updating Workflow Information in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

• An error message "You do not have permission to edit the value. Please contact your system administrator" is displayed when a manager attempts to update a workflow information before approval.
• The issue is specifically observed when the manager tries to change the city value from lower to upper case in an employee's home address workflow.
• The error persists even for a Super Admin role, indicating that it is not a permission issue.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

1. An employee modifies their home address in the profile.
2. This triggers a workflow for the manager's approval.
3. The manager opens the workflow and attempts to update the information by changing the city value from lower to upper case.
4. The error message "You do not have permission to edit the value. Please contact your system administrator" is displayed.

The issue is identified as a product function error in SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, specifically in the Workflows and To-Do Alerts function.

• The issue has been raised to SAP Engineering team for a code fix and is being investigated. 
• The patch was expected to be released in H1 2025.
• The issue was fixed via patch originally but caused other issues / regression and was reverted. 
• As a temporary workaround, the workflow can be withdrawn to make any changes to the city field.
