Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a new survey with a survey name which is more than 33 characters in Japanese or Chinese.
  2. Attempt to add or delete characters from the survey name and received error

Cause

The issue arises due to the difference in character limit restrictions for different columns for the survey name. The character limit for the survey name column is 100 bytes, and in Japanese or Chinese, one character occupies 3 bytes. Hence, the limit in Japanese is 33 characters.

However, when a survey is created, the survey name value is stored as a custom label, which has a character limit of 100 characters. The discrepancy in character limits between the survey name column and the custom label leads to the error.

Resolution

1. To edit or save a Japanese/Chinese survey name with more than 33 characters, switch to another system language such as English.

2. Open the globe mark for the respective survey name and edit the name in desired locale. This field allows input up to 100 characters in any language.
