3521827 - Trusting Diagnostic Agent Fails with Error J2EE Connection Certificate Error

Symptom

While trusting a Diagnostic Agent in Agent Administration of SAP Solution Manager, a registration error will appear similar to:

J2EE connection certificate

Version: 1

Serial number:           XXXXXX

Serial number (hex):  XXXXXX

Issuer: CN=Agent Authentication - CA Certificate, OUSAP AGS, O=SAP, C=DE

Valid not before: <VALID DATE>

not after: <VALID DATE>

Subject: XXXXXX

...

Exception: java.naming.NamingException: Exception during getInitialContext operation. Cannot establish connection to the remote server.

When checking the Diagnostic Agent logs, you may see an error similar to:

[EXCEPTION] com.sap.security.core.server.secstorefs.NotFoundException: Could not find a record with key "smd/agent/secretkey" in the store.

In SMDSystem.*.log:

com.sap.engine.services.security.exceptions.BaseLoginException: Access Denied.
