3521842 - Error when trying to promote employees on Compensation Forms - Compensation

Symptom

  • When promoting an employee A on a worksheet, another employee B's promoted data (final job role/final pay grade...) will automatically appear even when the employee B hasn't been promoted.
  • Error "Wrapped Exception: HrisActionResultBean[status = 'error') ResultBean: HrisActionResultBean(status = 'error') when trying to promote an user

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
  • SAP SuccessFactors Compensation

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open a compensation form
  2. Click on the three dots and promote
  3. Make a promotion for user A and save 
  4. Either an error message appears or another employee B in the same worksheet will display promotion data, such as final job role, final pay grade.

Cause

This issue is due to having data published for the users previously on deleted worksheets. For example:

  1. Launch a worksheet
  2. Promote employee
  3. Complete worksheet
  4. Publish data to Employee Central
  5. Delete the worksheet
  6. Change effective date of the template
  7. Try to promote an user and the issue is seen

Resolution

Make sure to delete all published records for the affected users. In case the issue persists, then a support ticket will be needed. Please note: Always avoid changing the template effective date after promoting employees.
