3522150 - Installation fails when trying to connect to the MSSQL Repository database - SAP Data Services 4.x

Symptom

  • Connection works from ODBC Data Sources 64-bit and Command Prompt.
  • SSL is not enabled for MSSQL Database.
  • The Data Services installer throws an error when it tries to connect to a Microsoft SQL repository database:

"The database connection failed. Please make sure your connection parameters are correct, and that you are using a valid, supported ODBC driver version, and then try again."
