Symptom
You are using the Resource Calendar data source while filtering for a specific job. You notice that certain employees appear, even though they are not currently assigned to the job which is being filtered.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Business Analytics work center.
- Enter the Data Sources view.
- Search for the data source Resource Calendar.
- Click on Preview.
- Use the Job field to filter for a specific job.
- Click on the Apply button.
- Switch to the View section of the data source.
- Add a new Row field for Employee.
Here you can see certain employees being listed, even though they are not assigned to the specified job.
Cause
By default, the Resource Calendar data source does not consider a key date for the data being pulled.
This means that if there is no specific date being filtered together with the desired job, any employee that was assigned to the specified job at any point in time will be pulled by the data source.
Resolution
The system works as expected.
In order to pull only the employees who are currently assigned to the job, please use the Calendar Month, Calendar Day or Calendar Year fields in the selection section of the data source to limit the time frame of the selection.
