3523394 - Error Occurs When Adding Custom File Structure ID to Payment Medium Format 5 - US ACH - CCD/PPD Domestic Payment

Symptom

The following error occurs while trying to add the custom Z File Structure ID to the Payment Medium Format 5 - US ACH - CCD/PPD Domestic Payment:

"Value 5 is not valid"
"Value in field Payment Medium Format Code must start with Z"
"Value in field Payment Medium Format Code must be equal to one of the following values:1, 17, 18, 20, 23, 34, 35, 36, 52, 59, 61, 65, 73,"
"Save failed"

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
  2. Go to the Overview view.
  3. Open the Activity Outgoing Bank Transfers.
  4. Click Edit assignment of payment file structures to the payment medium formats link.
  5. Click Add Row.
  6. In Payment Medium Format, input "5 - US ACH - CCD/PPD Domestic Payment"
  7. In File Structure ID column, input the custom Z file structure ID.
  8. Click Save and the following error occurs:

"Value 5 is not valid"
"Value in field Payment Medium Format Code must start with Z"
"Value in field Payment Medium Format Code must be equal to one of the following values:1, 17, 18, 20, 23, 34, 35, 36, 52, 59, 61, 65, 73,"
"Save failed"

Cause

The Payment Medium Format Code "5-US ACH - CCD/PPD Domestic Payment" is write-protected. This protection prevents it from being assigned to custom payment file structures.

Resolution

This is the desired system behavior.

Users can copy the properties of Payment Medium Format code '5-US ACH - CCD/PPD Domestic Payment' into the custom Payment Medium Format which is intended for the actual use of payment flexibility.
