3523671 - Incorrect Time Entries in Employee Time Report

In the standard report HCMTLMU01_Q0002, the recorded time for an employee is showing as X hours instead of the expected Y hours.

• Go to business analytics work center
• Go to Design reports.
• Search for the report  HCMTLMU01_Q0002 and open it.
• Enter employee Id ABC
• Run the report and navigate to the right.
• Observe the recorded time for this date shows X hours instead of the expected Y hours.

Eg: You have recorded 5 hours but the report is showing 8 hours which is matching the Target hours.

The employee is using exception-based time recording. The system records the remaining time not booked by the employee automatically which is matching the Target hours.

On the particular date, the Work Schedule shows that the employee has booked only Y hours. The system will automatically record the remaining X hours which matches the Target hours. This is the  standard functionality of exception-based time recording.

Exception based Time recording : Exception-based time recording is used if employees only have to record exceptions to their planned working time as defined in their work schedules, for example, when they need to record overtime or sick leave. The requirement for recording hours worked against a project should not be considered when determining the time recording method. 

Positive Time recording: The positive time recording method requires employees to record all times worked, all absences and leaves. This method would be selected for an employee who is paid for hours worked.
