3523783 - Error: Set of books ABC(ABC refers to Set of Books), Company XYZ (XYZ refers to Company) Journal Entries already exist

Error occurs when change the company currency: 'Set of books ABC(ABC refers to Set of Books), Company XYZ (XYZ refers to Company) Journal Entries already exist'.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
2. Go to the Overview view.
3. Search for the Activity Set of Books.
4. Select the Set of Books and click Edit.
5. Go to the Company Settings and change the Company Currency.
6. Error occurs.

Journal Entries already exist for the Set of Books ABC(ABC refers to Set of Books) and Company XYZ(XYZ refers to Company). It is not possible to change the Currency if Journal Entries exist as it would create some inconsistencies due to the difference of currencies.

Even if there is no postings for the new fiscal year, as long as there are already postings in the past belonging to the Company, it does not allow to change the Company currency in the New Fiscal year.

It is possible to change the Company Currency only if there is no Journal Entry.

Even if the previous Journal Entries are reversed, it is still not possible to change the Company Currency. Nor can the currency be changed in the backend.

Note: The solution is applicable to Fiscal Year Variant and Chart of Accounts also. Once the Journal Entry is created then it is not possible to change the Fiscal Year Variant and Chart of Accounts.
