Symptom

  • Following an upgrade of the operating system, connecting the ABAP client on a Windows OS fails.
  • An 'R3TRans -d' test results in the following error in the trans.log file :
    4 ETW000  [     dev trc,00000]  Loading DB library '/usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run/dbhdbslib.so' ...
    4 ETW000  [dlux.c      ,00000]  *** ERROR => DlLoadLib()==DLENOACCESS - dlopen("/usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run/dbhdbslib.so") FAILED
    4 ETW000                          "/usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run/dbhdbslib.so: undefined symbol: _ZNK6SQLDBC17SQLDBC_Connection20getTransactionStatusEv" 
    4 ETW000  [dbcon.c     ,00000]  *** ERROR => Couldn't load library '/usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run/dbhdbslib.so'
