3524414 - "Cannot create journal entry; inconsistent data for fixed asset ABC" Error Upon Complete Transfer of Individual Material

Error messages are faced during Manual Posting -> Complete Transfer of Individual Material:

• "Cannot create journal entry; inconsistent data for fixed asset ABC" (ABC is the target fixed asset ID).
• "Journal entries for journal entry voucher cannot be simulated".

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Fixed Assets work center.
2. Go to the Fixed Assets view.
3. Find the asset ID from which a complete transfer of individual material is to be done.
4. Select Manual Posting -> Complete Transfer of Individual Material.
5. Select Target Fixed Asset ID ABC.
6. Click Simulate button.
7. Error messages are displayed:

• "Cannot create journal entry; inconsistent data for fixed asset ABC".
• "Journal entries for journal entry voucher cannot be simulated".

The target asset ID ABC has been assigned an individual material which has priorly been assigned to a different asset.

This can be checked by opening asset ID ABC:

1. A business task will show up in the top of the screen, yellow painted: 
   "Edit Missing Master Data of Asset to Enable Posting ABC"
    
2. By clicking the business task, an error message will show up at the page bottom:

"Individual material AAA already assigned to fixed asset DEF company GHI".

AAA represents the individual material ID;

DEF represents the fixed asset ID;

GHI represents the company ID. 

1. Open asset ID ABC, navigate to Master Data -> Individual Material tab, select the row of Individual material AAA and click Remove.
2. Click Save.

Now the Manual Posting -> Complete Transfer of Individual Material of the source asset to target asset ABC can be completed successfully.
