3524655 - Actual dates are not displayed in the 'Project Planning' Gantt chart

Symptom

Actual dates are not differentiated from the Planned dates in the Gantt chart of app 'Project Planning'.

 "Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open app 'Project Control - Enterprise Projects' and create a new project;
  2. After creating it, click on 'Related Apps > Project Planning';
  3. Create a new Work Package and fill the 'Planned start' and 'Planned finish';
  4. Select the project > 'Processing Status > Release';
  5. Fill the 'Actual start' and 'Actual finish' dates;
  6. Notice that the Gantt chart does not differentiate the Planned Dates and Actual dates - they are displayed as the same chart entity and with the same color.

Cause

This is the expected behavior. The Gantt chart does not differentiate the Planned dates from the Actual dates.

The graphic entity that represents the project/WBS Elements considers the Planned dates, which can be seen by hovering the mouse over the graphic.

Resolution

The only color differentiation on the Gantt chart from the 'Project Planning' app comes from the status of the Project or WBS Element - which can be 'Remaining' or 'Done'.

Such change can only be seen if the Project or WBS Element processing status is set to 'Completed'.
