3525480 - Unable to delete non-project related tasks from 'Manage My Timesheet'

Symptom

Users are unable to delete the non-project related tasks (Administration Tasks, Miscellaneous, Training, Travel Times) that are displayed in app 'Manage My Timesheet' - related to SSCUI 101864.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open app 'Manage My Timesheet';
  2. Check the My tasks tab;
  3. There will be four standard non-project related tasks (Administration Tasks, Miscellaneous, Training, Travel Times) which cannot be deleted in SSCUI 101864 - Specify Task Types, Components, and Levels.

Cause

It is not possible to delete the non-project related tasks (Administration Tasks, Miscellaneous, Training, Travel Times), as they are standard SAP delivered entries.

Resolution

There are a couple options to workaround this condition:

  • Users can rename the non-project related tasks to adapt it to their organization structure and/or rename it to terms such as 'Obsolete' or 'Do not use';
  • The Timesheet Validation BAdI (HCM_CATS_V1_TS_VALIDATION ) can be used to restrict the time recording of such tasks, so that it throws an error message on the UI when a user tries to record time against these non-project related task types.
