Symptom
When a user uploads an attachment while requesting an absence and cancels the request before submitting it, the absence is not created. However, the attachment gets uploaded in Manage Documents and cannot be deleted.
The same behavior is observed when an attachment is uploaded in the Edit Absence scenario even though the user does not proceed with submitting the edited absence request.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central: Absence Request - Manage Documents
Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to Administer Time and click on Create Absence
- Select a Time Type that has an attachment configured
- Select Start and End Date
- Upload an attachment
- Click Cancel
- Go to Manage Documents
- The attachment uploaded for the absence request that was not created is visible in Manage Documents and cannot be deleted
Cause
The issue is due to a functionality gap in the system where the document gets uploaded in the system even though the absence request is not submitted
Resolution
- The Engineering team will consider the attachment handling for both Create and Edit absence scenarios as an enhancement for future releases, so that the attachment will not get uploaded to Manage Documents
Until then, in the exception cases that you need support to remove unwanted attachments linked to absence requests that may get uploaded to Manage Documents, you can raise a case with the component selected as LOD-SF-PLT-DOC
