Symptom
The approval tasks are being automatically canceled in the system after a Sales Quote or a Sales Order is submitted for approval.

Reproducing the Issue
The issue occurs for both Sales Quote and Sales Orders. In our example we will use Sales Quotes:
- Go to the Application and User Management Work Center.
- Go to the Business Task Management Work Center.
- Filter for All Items.
- Search for the Sales Quote ABC (where ABC represents the Sales Quote ID).
The Sales Quotes approval tasks are displayed with status as "Canceled".
Cause
In case, a Sales Quote or Sales Order document is updated while the Approval status is "In Approval", the approval task of the Sales Quote or Sales Order document will be canceled and the Approval status of the Sales Quote or Sales Order document will be changed to "Not Started". This will occur because the new changes performed for the document will not be consider in the previous approval task created being required to resubmit the document after the changes are performed.
An example for the change could be that a Reason for Rejection was maintained for an Item. Even if this change was not saved and the Reason for Rejection was Removed again, the Approval Status will change back to Not Started.
Note: This behavior will also occur for changes performed via the Web Service.
Resolution
This is standard system behavior.
For the Sales Quotes or Sales Orders in which the approval tasks were canceled, it will be required to perform the Submit action again for them in order to generate a new Approval Task in the system, this new approval task will consider the new changes performed in the Sales Quote or Sales Order document.
