3526861 - Issue with Inbound Task Closure Due to Actual Delivery Date Restrictions

An error occurs while attempting to close the inbound task with ID: ABC (ABC Represents the ID)

• The error message displayed is "Actual delivery date must be between DD.MM.YYYY and today".
• This issue arises when trying to short close a Purchase Order (PO) document which is backdated.
• Despite extending the posting period beyond six months in the business configuration, the issue persists.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Navigate to Inbound Logistics.
2. Proceed to Task control and find ID ABC (Where ABC represents the ID)
3. Click confirm.
4. Enter deviation reason for the respective line items 
5. Click save.
6. The system throws an error: "Actual delivery date must be between DD.MM.YYYY and today".

• The system throws this error due to a restriction set up that disallows inventory postings beyond six months in the past.
• Even though the required scoping question has been marked in the system, it does not resolve the issue.
• The Actual Delivery date is DD.MM.YYYY, which is earlier than DD.MM.YYYY, hence the system throws an error.

1. Go to the Business Configuration work center. 
2. Search for the relevant implementation project and choose the Edit Project Scope button. 
3. Navigate to the Scoping section and make sure that the option Inventory Posting is selected from the sub-element Inventory Management under the scoping element Manufacturing, Warehousing and Logistics.
4. Move to the Questions section and expand the scoping element Manufacturing, Warehousing and Logistics.
5. Under Inventory Management select Inventory Postings. 
6. Select the question Do you want to extend the posting period beyond 6 months?

Once the above question is selected and updated to the implementation project you will be able to make inventory postings beyond six months in the past.
