3527079 - Offboarding Notifications Sent for Terminated Employee Even Though Job Is Not Scheduled - Onboarding 1.0

Symptom

Offboarding notification emails are being sent for a terminated employee, even though the Offboarding job is not scheduled. The employee doesn't exist in the Onboarding system as they were added to the system via a third-party integration.

Email received from 'People Hub': "Offboarding activity couldn't be created for user TEST due to following reason(s): Failed to create Offboarding activity for user : 12345 due to some reason. Error Messages :[ErrorCode - 500; ErrorMessage - "12345" EmployeeLogin not found (ExistEmployee).]"

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding 1.0

Cause

This is an expected behavior once user is not created in Onboarding.

Resolution

Offboarding was triggered, but since the employee doesn't exist in the Onboarding module, the system encounters an error when attempting to process the Offboarding tasks. As a result, the system still sends the notification email. If the employee had been properly created in the Onboarding system, this error would not occur.
