3527295 - Save this Item Option is missing in Outlook Add-In for Contacts

Symptom

  • The Save this Item option is not available for contacts in the Outlook Add-In.
  • The option is available for other objects like Accounts and Opportunities.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open an email in MS Outlook.
  2. Launch the Server-side Outlook Add-in.
  3. Search for a contact randomly in the SSI panel.
  4. The button "Save this Item" is missing for the object "Contact".
  5. However, for other objects, the button "Save this Item" is available.

Resolution

The feature to save emails to contacts from the search feature in the Outlook Add-In is not currently supported. This is a standard system behavior. If the feature/functionality is needed as a matter of urgency, please refer to KBA 3475641 - Functionality Currently not Available.
