3528313 - Failure in System ID Purge due to Foreign Key Constraint Violation

Symptom

  • The system ID purge fails when attempting to upload a CSV file for user purge.
  • The error message reported is: "Execute script to run user purge failed: Wrapped Exception: com.successfactors.db.dao.DAOException: Error while executing SQL script: SAP DBTech JDBC: [462]: failed on update or delete by foreign key constraint violation: "SFV4"."(DO statement)": line 26 col 1 (at pos 1059): TrexColumnUpdate failed on table 'SFV4_HANAPMxxxxx:PER_PERSON' with error: DELETE on SFV4_HANAPMxxxxx:PER_PERSON(PERSON_ID) failed, because 1 rows with corresponding foreign keys still exist in SFV4_HANAPMxxxxx:EMP_EMAIL_INFO(PERSON_ID), rc=1536."

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Attempt to perform a system ID purge using a CSV file.
  2. The purge fails and the error message is displayed.

Cause

The issue is due to the existence of email information (or emergency contact) for the employee still available in the system after the soft purge.

Resolution

  1. Generate a person and employment report from the report center for this employee, or import a Compound Delete for Email Info in order to remove the orphaned record.
  2. Delete the email or/and emergency contact information for the employee using import.
