Symptom
In Fiori world the hierarchies (like Financial Statement Versions) are managed centrally. These hierarchies are also referred to as Universal Hierarchies. They are stored in a central persistency table and can be consumed by Fiori analytical apps at run time. Numerous hierarchy types are supported, including financial statement versions.
The balance sheet apps in the General Ledger area (F0708, W0161) are also based on FSVs stored in the central tables: hrrp_directory, hrrp_node, hrrp_directoryt, hrrp_nodet. There are two ways to maintain FSVs so that they become available in those tables:
1) Define Financial Statement Versions in Global Hierarchies
In this way FSVs are maintained in Manage Global Hierarchies app.
2) Manage Financial Statement Versions (OB58)
In this way FSVs are maintained in OB58 and replication process ensures that the hrrp* tables are also updated.
This article explains the difference.
