Symptom
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Before raising cases to SAP Support, we recommend that our customers or partners attempt self-service by searching through existing documentation or knowledge to resolve the issue. Choosing suitable keywords to find the most relevant content can be challenging. This KBA aims to provide some guidance on identifying the right keywords.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Resolution
Here are several best practices to help choose suitable keywords:
1. It's best to conduct your search in English
As English is the base language for most content, it is highly recommended to use English for searching. Going to the system in the English language setting could be the easiest way to find the term in English. When the relevant app name in English isn't known, this can be obtained from the Fiori App Library by inputting the respective name in other languages in the search field.
2. Use the search operators to achieve more accurate results
3. A Message ID is typically better than text
If a question concerns a message, using a message ID as a keyword is generally more effective than the message text.
a. Often, by clicking the message bubble, one can view the long text of the message. By scrolling down to the bottom, the message ID, such as FS214 as shown in the screen below, will be displayed. For searches, FS214 can serve as one of the keywords, which can be combined with an app name such as "Post General Journal Entries". This would make the complete search keywords FS214 "Post General Journal Entries".
b. For the GUI app, it might be necessary to double-click the message or click the message in the bottom left corner to retrieve the message ID.
c. If obtaining the error message ID isn't possible, specific data should be avoided in the search keywords. For instance, with the error message below, the suitable keywords to include in a search are "Cannot execute. Cost Center Group". The specific cost center ID 1010120 shouldn't be included in the search keywords.
Good example: "Cost Center" "Cannot execute. Cost Center Group"
4. Searching with accurate app names or SSCUI ID is usually recommended
App names can be found in the Fiori App Library. For app names, it's recommended to group words with "". An example would be "Manage Material Valuations". A search could also involve the use of the app ID, such as F2680, as shown in the screen below. It is crucial to select "SAP S/4HANA Cloud" in the dropdown selection.
For SSCUI, it's typically more accurate to search with SSCUI ID (example 100297). The KBA 2754127 - How to find SSCUI configuration can provide more information. The SSCUI ID can be found in the Excel specified in the KBA above.
5. In the instance of a Short Dump (Runtime Error), it's advised to check details with the app ABAP Runtime Errors
If there is Short Dump (Runtime Error) raised, check details with app ABAP Runtime Errors.
Potential keywords include Runtime Error, Program, and the app name/ID.
Good example: "Manage Cost Centers" SYSTEM_SHM_AREA_OBSOLETE
6. Certain scenarios may require specific keywords
- If an app or background job is running slow: performance
- For processing multiple records: mass, batch
- Some other frequently used keywords: background job, error, blank, freeze, calculation logic.
7. Search in different channels for specific type of questions
- KBA/Note, Help Documentation and all the general search: SAP for Me
- How-to/Consulting questions: search in SAP Community in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition relevant tags
- Best Practices: search in SAP Signavio Process Navigator
- Find whether a function is planned or requested: Customer Influence, Roadmap
