3531754 - Error Connecting Power BI to Datasphere tenant with HANA ODBC Driver

Symptom

  • An attempt to enable a connection on Power BI using the HANA ODBC driver to SAP Datasphere tenant results in failure.

  • The error message displayed is:

    •  "SAP DBTech JDBC: [403]: internal error: Cannot get remote source objects: [SAP AG][LIBODBCHDB SO][HDBODBC] Communication link failure;-10709 Connection failed (RTE:[89013]....Socket closed by peer"
  • The error message from Power BI shows  "Data Flows: Cause: Remote source is down! Replication Flows: Cause: Remote source is down! Remote Tables: Unable to connect remote source: Remote source is down!, Code: 5921, SQL State: HY000" appears on the connection configuration.
