3531793 - Open Client: Client incorrectly validates non-matching client side Common Name and Server side Common Name - SDK for SAP ASE

Symptom

  • Open Client connects require the ASE's Common Name that started the port be the same as the Client side Common Name given in the filter
  • However Open Client allows a miss match to be validated when the Common Name value is off by 1 character at the end.
  • Example:
    • ASE's $SYBASE/interfaces
      • master tcp ether asehost aseport ssl="CN=ASEname"
    • Open Client's $SYBASE/interfaces
      • query tcp ether asehost aseport ssl="CN=ASEnam"
