3531969 - Identity value out of sync between primary and standby with a table which has identity column - SAP SRS

Symptom

  • You have a HADR setup, you found the value of identity column is out of sync between primary and standby ASE server.
  • By default, HADR has HVAR enabled.
  • And in some cases, after failover you see Error 2601 occur with a table which has identity column.
    Msg 2601, Level 16, State 6:
    Attempt to insert duplicate key row in object '<table_name>' with unique index '<index_name>' Command has been aborted.
