Symptom

  • Error message AA417 "Retirement of new acquisition not possible (Transaction total = 0)" occurs when attempting to settle assets in AIAB in SAP S/4HANA Asset Accounting.
  • The error message indicates that year acquisitions are not possible as the total of transactions equals 0.
  • The issue arises when the settlement asset value date is earlier than the acquisition asset value date.
