Symptom
While creating a journal entry with the app 'Post General Journal entries' (F0718) the system automatically determines the profit center from the assigned CO object.
The default value (for example dummy) cannot be overwritten if you change it to another profit center. The information message KI339 ''Profit center was set to &1'' will appear in the error tray.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- In the 'Post General Journal Entries' app (F0718) assign a CO object to the line item, for example enter a Cost Center value.
- The Profit Center value, example 'DUMMY', was derived in the line item automatically from the masterdata.
- Change the center manually, but profit center cannot be overwritten, and error message KI339 occurs.
Cause
The Profit Center of the line item and that of the controlling object posted to the line item must be identical. A substitution under these conditions is ineffective. When there is a CO object assigned, then the profit center has to be derived always from the CO object and cannot be overwritten.
If change it within a substitution, or enter it manually, the profit center is written back to the profit center assigned to the CO object and information message KI339 will output.
Resolution
It is standard system behavior. Taking the example of entering a cost center value into the line item - In the app 'Manage Cost Centers' you can check if there is an assigned Profit Center value under General Information>Organisational units.
