Symptom
- You want to prevent users from editing data from the Write/Read columns added to the model when Data Access Control (DAC) is enabled.
- You want users to edit all columns other than Write and Read columns in the model.
Environment
SAP Analytics Cloud 2024.15.13
Reproducing the Issue
Consider that you have enabled DAC already:
- Open the model you want to edit;
- Notice that there are two editable columns (Write/Read) available in the model other than the data itself.
Cause
This is currently by design. It is not possible to set restrictions at a column level in SAC Modeler.
Resolution
- Data Access Control will only define what portion of information an user can see at Story level.
- In order to restrict editing, you need to restrict edit permissions for the whole Model.
