Symptom
- In the latest People Profile, a custom portlet displays the message "There's currently no data for you" even though there is an entry for the user in Manage Data.
- The custom object have Expand/Collapse functionality configured with the business rule.
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors HCM
Reproducing the Issue
- Log into the instance.
- Navigate to a user's profile in the latest People Profile.
- Check the affected custom object portlet. The message "There's currently no data for you" appears.
- Navigate to Manage Data. An entry for the user is present.
- Check the UI Rule configured in the Custom UI for the Object and see there's a Expand/Collapse functionality expression configured on it.
Cause
The issue arises due to the new UX design of the People Profile, which does not support the Expand/Collapse functionality.
Please notice that the Expand/Collapse functionality will not be supported in the new UX design. The following reasons were provided by our Product Team:
- The new design for the latest people profile is responsive -- which means it makes use of complete space available on the screen so there is better utilization of the space and form length is reduced.
- There are group names on the top which allows user to navigate to specific section rather than scrolling manually.
Resolution
For now, as a workaround, please remove the UI Rule associated with the Custom UI.
This should allow the portlet to be displayed correctly in the Latest People Profile.
A permanent fix will be applied on 06-May-2025 for Preview and on 16-May-2025 for Production.
