3533882 - Planned Cost from Analytical Apps is different when comparing it with 'Plan Customer Projects'

Symptom

Planned Cost value for a Role with an assigned resource is divergent, when comparing it in 'Plan Customer Projects' app and in Analytical Apps - such as 'P&L - Plan/Actuals'.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open app 'Plan Customer Projects' and search for a project;
  2. Navigate to the Work Packages tab and select a Work Package to open its details;
  3. Note the Planned Cost value for the staffed role;
  4. Navigate to the Versions tab > click on edit > select the Update Baseline flyout and select option 'Sync with Finance';
  5. Then, open app 'P&L - Plan/Actual' and fill the mandatory filters;
  6. Check the Planned Cost value and notice that it will be different from the one collected in step 3.

Cause

This is the expected behavior, based on how the Cost calculation is conducted in Analytical Apps - such as 'P&L - Plan/Actuals'.

Resolution

The difference in the Cost calculation between these apps happens because the Analytical Apps does not take in consideration the Rate related to the staffed resource, maintained in 'Manage Cost Rates - Services'.

Instead, the Cost is calculated based on the default Rate for the project.
