3533918 - Warning Message When Updating Opportunity Close Date and Revenue Dates

You receive a Warning message regarding the Revenue Date when updating the Opportunity Close Date.

1. Open the Navigation menu.
2. Select Guided Selling view.
3. Locate and open the desired Opportunity.
4. On the left panel, find the Close Date field.
5. Change the Close Date.
6. See the Warning message Revenue start date must be greater than the opportunity close date.

The system automatically synchronizes the Close Date with the Revenue Start and End Dates, ensuring that the Revenue Start Date is never before the Close Date.

When changing the Close Date, the system automatically updates the Revenue Start and End Dates accordingly. However, if manually adjusting the Revenue Start Date, the system assumes that the user intends to maintain these values independently. In this case, changes to the Close Date will not be propagated to the Revenue Start Date.

If you subsequently set the Close Date to a date after the manually adjusted Revenue Start Date, the system will generate a Warning message to alert the discrepancy.
