3535337 - JCO_ERROR_CONVERSION: Incorrectly encoded sign for BCD field XXX in record YYY.

Symptom

  • Using RFC adapter to send data from SAP ECC system to SAP PI/PO system or vice versa using RFC.
  • Messages are failing with an error similar to the following: "com.sap.conn.jco.ConversionException: (122) JCO_ERROR_CONVERSION: Incorrectly encoded sign for BCD field XXX in record XXX".
  • The RFC channel may show an error similar to the following: "com.sap.aii.adapter.rfc.afcommunication.RfcAFWException: error while processing message to remote system:com.sap.aii.adapter.rfc.core.client.RfcClientException: could not convert response from RFC to XML:com.sap.aii.adapter.rfc.util.RfcParseException: Parse JCoRecord"
  • The error could be observed after performing changes in the payload in ECC side.
  • The error can also be observed after performing an update/upgrade in the ECC side.
