Symptom

  • While attempting to install Information Steward 4.3 SP3, the installer does not permit connection to an external MS SQL server database as the Information Steward repository.
  • An error message is generated during the installation process:
    "ODBC call for data source failed: <[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]ConnectionOpen (Connect()).>. Notify Customer Support"
