3535911 - Issue with Text Positions in Bill of Materials (BoM) Causing Transaction Document Differences

Symptom

  • Data Flow Verification Results are being generated for Production Requests and Production Request Planning Details, which is impacting business operations.
  • The system is generating these Data Flow Verifications (DFVs) due to text items being available in production requisition.
  • The issue is causing transaction document differences.
  • There is an issue with the text items in the Production BoM.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Application and User Management work center
  2. Navigate to the Data Flow Verification results view and find relevant ID
  3. Edit it and open respective application log.
  4. Here, multiple errors can be found indicating differences between Production Request Planning Details and Production Requests.

Cause

To ensure consistency, it is necessary for the user to add at least one input product from the line item group at the line item level. This is expected functionality.

Resolution

  1. To resolve this, user must delete the line item from the BOM using the UI Actions.
  2. After deleting the line item, we recommend creating a new production model using the latest BOM and then releasing it.
  3. To avoid any DFV errors, please refrain from clicking "start repeat check" before creating a new production model.
  4. Once the text item are being deleted from the BOM, create a new production model with the updated BOM and release it.
  5. After completing these steps, try restarting the Data Flow Verifications.
