Symptom
- While attempting to configure a recurring job for a Change Report the system appears to automatically set the year incorrectly.
- For example when typing in "2055" it will save as "1955".
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to Change Audit Report
- Select desired Report Type
- Set up the Time Range
- Configure the report to Re-Occur monthly
- Type in date 2055
- Attempt to save changes
- An error is received and the date changes to 1955
Cause
- This is expected behavior as the system interprets two-digit years based on their proximity to the current year. If the two-digit year is within 30 years of the current year, it assumes the date is in the same century.
- For instance, a year entered as "53" would be interpreted as "2053" (since 2053 is within 30 years of 2024).
- However, a year entered as "54" would be interpreted as "1954" (since 1954 is not within 30 years of 2024 and thus considered to be in the previous century). As a result, the date 10/28/55 is interpreted as 10/28/1955, because 1955 is not within 30 years of 2024.
Resolution
When entering the desired year, use the calendar tool to select the date. This will help avoid any confusion with the system's interpretation of two-digit years.
