3536113 - Data Action Cross-Model Copy Step Failed - SAC

Symptom

  • In a Data Action, the Cross-Model Copy Step is not working when the source is a Classic Account Model and the target is New Model Type.
  • A warning pops-up "Selected source model has no customer-defined measures, but the default cube does."

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Initiate a Data Action.
  2. Add a Cross-Model Copy Step from a Classic Account Model to a New Model Type.

Cause

Behaviour by design.

Resolution

Cross-model copy steps do not allow to copy data between classic account models and a model with measures. This has been documented in help portal: Adding a Cross-Model Copy Step -> Note No.2

If you need to copy data between a classic account model and a model with measures, use the LINK function in an advanced formulas step instead. For details, see About Script Formulas and Calculations in Advanced Formulas for Planning.
