3536414 - Time Recording or Allowance Recording is not reverted if the import via External Time Data or External Allowance failed due to some validation rule set on the monthly period time sheet.

Monthly Period Time Sheet is used and there is business rule for validation purpose set as save rule on the Employee Time Sheet object. 

If you import via External Time Data or External Allowance to a monthly period time sheet, you will notice that the time recording or the allowance recording is still updated and could be found in Time Sheet UI, although the status of the External Time Data or External Allowance shows in Error status.
For example, like in below import of External Time Data example.
The status of the External Time Data shows Error and the consistent import time sheet alert also shows up on Time Sheet UI. This indicates failed import of the external time data.
However there is still entry shown on Time Sheet UI for Nov 5, 2024, 08:00 - 09:00, 1 hour.
But now the time valuation is not updated now. There is 0 hr 00 min in time valuation result, which means the unwanted 08:00-09:00 1 hour on Nov 5 is not yet recalculated by time valuation now.

However, if there is some recalculation on the time sheet can be executed properly without triggering any error, or if the time sheet can be submitted or approved without any error, then you will notice the time valuation result is then updated with the unwanted imported time included in the time valuation calculation. 
This leads to wrong time valuation result or wrong time container value.
In the same example as above, there is no error triggered when submitting the time sheet, so after the time sheet is submitted for approval, the time valuation result is also updated to 1 hr 00 min, where the unwanted 1 hours, 08:00-09:00 on Nov 5 is taken into time valuation calculation.

This is a known situation to be patched after 2H 2024 release. This KBA will be updated with the progress of the fix.

Before the fix is available, please

• Ensure your own business rule also triggers the same or similar error message to prevent the monthly time sheet from being submitted or recalculated. This is to avoid the unwanted update to the time valuation result or time container which may then impact payroll.
  And please correct your data as per your own logic defined in the business rule, so as to ensure only the allowed data will be updated to time sheet.
• There will always be the import time sheet alert shown on the time sheet UI, so please do not ignore these alerts. Please make sure to correct the data accordingly so that no import alert exists.
