3537058 - Automatic Creation of Purchase Orders in "In Preparation" Status

A requirement exists to automatically create a purchase order from a purchase request, but without sending the order to the supplier automatically. The desired status is "In Preparation".

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Select the option "Create purchase order automatically" in the configuration activity "Define Automatic Creation of Purchase Orders".
2. Observe that the purchase orders created are automatically in the "Sent" status.

This is the standard system behavior. The functionality "Define Automatic Creation of Purchase Orders" is designed to create and order the purchase order automatically, not in the "In Preparation" status.

1. Understand that the "Define Automatic Creation of Purchase Orders" functionality creates and orders the purchase order automatically, not in the "In Preparation" status.
2. Note that the purchase order created automatically can only enter "In Preparation" if there are any errors with the purchase order.
3. As a workaround, create an approval process for the Purchase Order (PO).
4. When the PO enters the status "In Approval", send it back to "In Revision".
