3537548 - Missing info in DS Opportunity history

"Changed on" date in Opportunity History Data Source is not showing all changes from Opportunity OWL

SAP Cloud for Customer

1. Navigate to Sales
2. Go to Opportunities.
3. Select and open the desired Opportunity to make changes.
4. Proceed to the Changes Tab.
5. Note that numerous changes are displayed along with the "Change On" date.
   
   AND
   
   1. Navigate to the Data Analytics 
   2. Locate and open the Opportunity Data Source
   3. Find and select 'Opportunity History [CODOPPHHB]'
   4. Attempt to create a new custom report that displays the "changed on" date for a specific field, such as "Opportunity Sales Phase".
   5. Notice that the "changed on" date is constantly being overwritten by any changes made at the opportunity level.
   6. Observe the discrepancy between the Opportunity History Data Source and the opportunity details in the OWL, where all changes and their respective "changed on" dates can be seen in the "changes" tab.
   7. Question why the same structured table or behavior is not retrievable in the dedicated Data Source.

Expected System Behavior

The field "Changed On" will always show the latest change date of each opportunity in the data source Opportunity History. This is not an issue but the design of the data source instead. The Opportunity History is a data source designed to display historical information about an opportunity’s quantities and values. For example: Sales Phase, Status, Item Total Value, Expected Value, Chance of Success. The data is stored for a validity period, based on date the change was made.
