3538203 - Trigger I-9 Flow error - Onboarding

An error occurs when manually triggering the I-9 flow: "The previous sections of Form I-9 are incomplete for the selected user. Please complete them to proceed."

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

1. Navigate to Admin Center > Manage Data.
2. Under Create New, select Trigger I-9 Flow
3. Enter the following information:
   
   • User:
   • Trigger Type:
   • Process:
4. Click on Save
5. Error: The previous sections of Form I-9 are incomplete for the selected user. Please complete them to proceed.

The error occurs because there is an open Form I-9 task for the user. Due to a technical issue, the task cannot be completed, which prevents the I-9 flow from being triggered again.

The status of the I-9 Audit Trail and I-9 User Data objects must be updated. Follow the steps below:

1. Navigate to Manage Data > I-9 Audit Trail
   
   • If multiple records exist, select the latest record with the highest Sequence Number.
2. Click Take Action > Make Correction
3. Change the Status to Section 2 Signed
4. Click Save.
5. Navigate to Manage Data > I-9 User Data
6. Click Take Action > Make Correction
7. Change the Status to Section 2 Signed
8. Click Save.
9. Once the statuses are updated, trigger the I-9 flow again by navigating to Manage Data > Create New: Trigger I-9 Flow.
