3539482 - Server stops/hangs with message "trying get forbid mutex held by task"

Symptom

IQ server becomes unresponsive intermittently with following message in .srvlog/.stderr. logs:

  • Task 0x1dd4bf0(Request task xxx) is trying get forbid mutex held by task xxxxxxx(Request task xxx) for more than xxxxxx ms
  • Task xxxxxxx(Request task xxx) state: OS thread id=xxxxxxxx
  • System crashes after launching the query and no functions in UI (User Interface) can be used to cancel query.
  • The SQL query, which has 35 nested "JOINs" and "GROUP BYs" and is growing exponentially, is responsible for infinite runtimes.
