3540459 - Shopping Cart created with currency different from company currency shows incorrect value

In some cases when a Shopping Cart is created with a currency different from company currency system is not showing the correct value based on the Exchange Rate.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Home work center.
2. Select Self-Services Overview view.
3. Select Go Shopping (Advanced).
4. Enter the following information:
   • Employee
   • Ship-to
   • Account Assignment Type
5. Click on Next until step 3.
6. Add the product.
7. Change the Price from company currency to other currency.

Observe that the system is not considering the Exchange Rate for the Net value.

The system is designed to display different amounts in the Shopping Cart creation. However, when the Purchase Request is created, the price remains the same for both scenarios. This is because the system considers the Currency maintained in the Shopping Cart for the follow-on documents, such as the Purchase Order and Supplier Invoice, instead of the Company default currency.

For example, in our internal system, we create 2 Shopping Carts with the following details:

- Quantity: 95,200 ea
- Price: 1 MXN
- Total: 5,712.00 USD

- Quantity: 1 ea
- Price: 95,200.00 MXN
- Total: 5,426.40 USD

However, when the Purchase Request is created, the total is 95,200.00 MXN for both documents. The same applies to the Purchase Order and Supplier Invoice. So, if the Company default currency is USD and the Shopping Cart was created using Currency MXN, the follow-on documents will also be created with Currency MXN.

This behavior will not result in financial loss as the Currency maintained in the Shopping Cart will be considered in the follow-on documents, such as the Purchase Order and Supplier Invoice, instead of the Company default currency and only during Payment, the Exchange Rate will be applied to the total amount of the Invoice.
