Symptom
Depending on the users' locale, they are unable to search for a completion event at the Learning History page:
You can expand your search criteria and try again."
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Learning
Reproducing the Issue
- Log into HCM > navigate to the Learning module >
- Access the Learning History page (when through ILX: Activities menu > Learning History; when through the legacy UI: Learning History tile > View All) >
- At 'Search for Learning', type the required terms >
- Notice that no results (or not all expected results) come back >
- However, depending to which locale the user's preference gets changed to, then some results (or all expected results) are shown at the Learning History page.
Cause
As per our Engineering team, the application's current expected behavior is to show only entries that match the user's locale. The item's title must be populated in the user's locale for it to appear in the Learning History page when typing the search.
Resolution
Please make sure the items' titles are populated in the locale the user is set with:
- Navigate to Learning Administration > Learning Activities > Items >
- Search for the item that's not showing up at the Learning History page > open its record >
- At the Details tab, look for the Title field > click on the Translate button (globe icon) >
- Now populate the item's title for all required locales > Save.
After that, the item should show up when the user searches for it at the Learning History page.
NOTE: Alternatively, to have a different system behavior, it would be possible to have an enhancement request created for it (as per KBA 2090228), where the Learning Product Management team can further review and assess the requested functionality to be considered in a future release.
