Symptom
When creating a report using the columns from the tables that are of background elements from the Job Application (e.g. Application: Education, Application: Outside Work Experience), these columns are coming back null.
Checking the job application itself, they do have value in there. And, after opening the job application itself, the data starts appearing in the report.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
Cause
This happens when the Application Snapshot hasn't been taken of these applications, so the data does not display in the adhoc report initially. After the Snapshot is taken, the data starts appearing in the reports.
Resolution
Background Elements don't pertain to Job Application, they actually belong to the Candidate Profile as they're configured in the Candidate Profile Template. Since these fields are available in the job application section so the operators can have a history of the candidate, like where they studied, what languages they speak, etc., the background elements are available in the job application too. However, this data still comes from the Candidate Profile.
Therefore, the Background Elements will only be available in the adhoc report table when the snapshot is taken because that is the moment where the data is synchronized from the Candidate Profile into the Job Application, becoming available in the report table as well.
