3540547 - Error "You have to add the Customer role (FLCU00) to Employment BP" in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

While trying to add the Customer (Fin.Accounting) role to the Business Partner, system throws the error: "You have to add the Customer role (FLCU00) to Employment BP" is encountered.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the app Maintain Business Partner.
  2. Find and open the Business Partner ID.
  3. Switch Between Display and Change.
  4. Change in BP Role: Customer(FLCU00).
  5. System throws the error.

Cause

This is system standard behavior.

Resolution

  • As per the new BP model, Customer role should be part of the Employment BP and not the Employee BP.
  • Refer the Documentation for more details on the BP model and the Customer role of Employment BP - Business Partner Model in SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
