Symptom

During Data Services installation the following error appears when the CMS details are entered:

"Please check the CMS connection information, make sure they are correct and the CMS is up and running, then try again."

Environment

  • SAP Data Services 4.x
  • All supported Windows operating systems
  • CMS installed on a separate machine
  • No SSL configured

The following can also be observed:

  • CMS is up and running
  • CMS server can be pinged
  • Test-NetConnection in PowerShell / telnet can connect to the CMS host over the default port (6400)
