Symptom
- An issue arises when trying to add multiple items to a collection in the Meta Data Framework (MDF) using the "Add To" action in a business rule.
- When attempting to select items in the "Add To" action, no selections can be made despite the parent and child entities appearing.
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
- MDF based Business Rules.
Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to Admin Center > Configure Business Rules.
- Access the Business Rules Admin page.
- Search for the rule
- On the Configure Business Rules page, define the conditions in the If section.
- In the Then statement, select the Add To action.
- Observe that it is possible to see the "add to" in the then statement but can't select anything in there.
Cause
The inability to select items in the "Add To" action is due to the nature of the MDF object association type set as Composite.
Resolution
If the Custom MDF Objects have an Association in place, this behavior is expected, and you won't be able to select the "Add to" action.
To select the "Add to" for MDF Business Rule, please update the Type Value to "Valid When".
